Alicia Suárez
Alicia Suárez is a yoga educator and movement therapist. She works with individuals who desire to change habitual patterns of movement that are no longer serving them by exploring an integrated and balanced approach to movement and asana practice. People come to her for both preventative and/or therapeutic purposes.
Alicia brings a background in formal anatomy, kinesiology, physiology and embryology education, plus training in asana analysis, alignment principles & breathing techniques to her work.
She has trained extensively with Amy Matthews and Leslie Kaminoff, authors of the best-selling book “Yoga Anatomy.” She has also studied with Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen (Embryological Development & Yoga Therapeutics), Judith Lasater (Restorative Yoga) and Elise Miller (Yoga for Scoliosis) & has participated in Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains Courses and Dr. Gil Hedley’s Hands-on Cadaver Dissection Workshops.
Alicia specializes in one-on-one sessions. She also teaches Yoga Therapeutics & Anatomy workshops and has taught Restorative Yoga classes in NYC. She is completely bilingual and at ease teaching in both English and Spanish. She is a member of the Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
