Welcome to Yoga with Alicia
Yoga has been practiced for more than 5,000 years and is widely recognized for its physical benefits. These include increased strength, flexibility, muscle tone and overall vitality. Other benefits of a yoga practice include postural awareness, mental calmness, stress reduction and better breathing. But the thing that I am most attracted to, fascinated by, and in awe of, is the remarkable healing power of yoga.
Medical studies have shown that yoga can help improve the symptoms of certain conditions and ailments such as back & neck pain, anxiety, insomnia, infertility, migraine headaches, menopause, diabetes, incontinence, high blood pressure, pelvic floor dysfunctions, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, and obesity. This far reaching effect that yoga can have in someone’s life is what inspired me to become a yoga educator. And so, this is my humble offering for you…
If your interest is in achieving the most difficult, pretzel-like yoga poses there are, then I am probably not the teacher for you. If, however, you are at a point in your life where you want to restore yourself, explore the mind-body connection and bring a healthy balance into your life, then I might, indeed, be the right teacher for you. It would be an absolute honor to share in your process and practice.
